ZTS influences Nascent Music
Written by Kent Rytting
Saturday, 02 December 2006
Nascent Music features live solo improvisations in the form of podcasts by Shane Carey. He plays a Chapman Stick hooked  up to some MIDI equiment and comes up with a new improvisation every week. We have been lucky enough to have influenced him through our music and his latest two improvisations "Nazerthen" and "Thazent".

Zentherstick started out in 2002-2004 primarily only performing improvised recordings, but were never courageous enough to publish them in any form, some excerpts of these jams can be found on the "Take One" and "Take Two" sections of our Audio Section. Shane has inspired me in his approach, thinking about a topic, and mindfully applying the idea to his music, and I'm hoping that ZTS will soon also provide improvised Jams in the form of podcasts, probably starting some time in the new year.

It's fun to hear some of our musical sound and ideas filtered through someone elses brain. Thanks Shane for Thinking of us. Please go to his site and check out his music!

Podcast links added
Written by Kent Rytting
Saturday, 04 November 2006
We have added a Podcasts category to our Zen Links page, that features some Zendrum, Theremin and Stick related music.

We have been lucky to be featured on the "Strada-Sphere" Stick podcast, on a couple of the episodes. This is a great show that has a wonderful mix of Stick Music, and is hosted by Juan Leon, who has a fresh positive dialog, and selects a very interesting and diverse selection of Stick music to listen to.

We also are grateful for the support of David Vessel who contiues to play ZenTherStick on the "Spellbound" radio show.

Check out these podcasts, and please contact us if you have other suggestions that we should add to this list.

Newsflash
There were 3 musicians who got bored with their instruments.  They decided to find the strangest and hardest instruments to play.  They played their new instruments.  They were happy.
